ANNOUNCEMENTS: HORSE HANDLING CLASS!...Does your horse push you around? Are you worried about your toes all the time? Are you ready to learn how to be the lead mare? Then call Raintree's office at 571-6995 and ask about our horse handling class! Learn to be the boss and get the respect you deserve from your horse. If your horse knows he can depend on you to keep him safe, he will be happier and you will be safer. Your ground handling skills directly affect your riding skills. Improve your skills on the ground and become a better horseman. Your horse will thank you! We have had enough interest in riding school jackets that we will be talking to a screen printer about costs. They will be school colors, royal blue with white. Please join our email list if you haven’t already and updates will be sent as soon as we get the information. Hopefully we will have our new jackets before it gets too warm to wear them! We would like to offer a SPECIAL THANKS to Joe Burke for his recent, generous donation of tack, saddle pads and most importantly, rain sheets! If it weren’t for Joe, we wouldn’t have been able to get all the horses covered before the first rain of the year. If you see him around the barn working with Big Willy (large chestnut gelding right next to the tack room), be sure to tell him "THANK YOU" yourself. MAC AND MONTE'S owners came and picked them up last week. We will miss them terribly while they are gone and look forward to having them back again for summer camp. Thanks so much, Brittany for generously allowing us to have them for so long. Any students that would like to send a thank you note to Brittany and Chad, leave them in the barn box in the office and Lori will make sure they get them. Drawings are especially appreciated. |
Happy New Year! Write a biography of a Raintree horse... If your biography is chosen and your parents approve, a picture of you with the horse will be put up on the website. Include the horse’s name, age, color, gender, breed, abilities, what you love about him or her and where he/she likes to be scratched! Do you know your horse’s favorite treat? Include that, too! Many thanks to Eric for making this great suggestion for our website! See Epona's picture in the office...Thanks to Mia O. for riding Epona for her pictures. The jump is 2’11” – that’s almost as tall as she is! Mia is now learning how to do flying lead changes on Epona. Congratulations to Laura for doing such a great job with Tango – she really likes you! Congratulations to all the lucky kids who got to participate in our "Horse For a Day" program! Speaking of which, thanks to Sasha for the beautiful drawing! Lori hopes Liz will let us keep it hanging in the office forever!
